"A team of scientists from Japan, Russia and the United States hopes to clone a wooly mammoth, a symbol of Earth’s ice age that ended 12,000 years ago, according to a report in Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun. The researchers say they hope to produce a baby mammoth within six years."
Question: Can he play the point on the power play?
Answer: We'll discuss in today's wide-ranging live chat at 2.
Seriously, your Blueshirts need help on the PP blueline, and from Marian Gaborik, sooner than that.
Montreal and Atlanta won last night, and Carolina got tattooed by the Bruins, so a quick glance at the standings shows: NY in 7th, tied with Habs in points with 55 and just two up on the Thrash and five up on Canes in 9th.
Rangers play both Canes (Thursday) and Thrash (Saturday) on road, which is why two points from tomorrow's Leafs game is critical. We're not talking extinction here, but if the ship isn't righted with a few wins before the All-Star break (toss in a Monday nighter in Washington and Tuesday at home against the Panthers), fans can see that a slip to 8th or 9th isn't out of the question. BTW, that final pair is the fifth B2B this month. There's only one in February, and Ryan Callahan will be back.
Gaborik said the benching in the second and third periods against the Flyers would motivate him. Uh, might be a good time for that to happen. He'll then get a rest during the All-Star hiatus.
Stay tuned for reports from the practice at 11 here and on twitter.com/stevezipay, and please swing by for what we hope will be another entertaining chat.
