Torts: Happy where we are, but things can change quickly

Last year through 16 games, the Rangers were 8-7-1 and not necessarily improving. Not the case this season.

The coach said after practice today that the tape session before practice went very well, correcting some flaws from the Islanders game, and that the pace of practice was good. "As a coach you have to be happy, but things can change quickly,"' he said.

The rapid change could come against the Canadiens in Montreal, but I don't count this team out. Thinking close game.

Henrik Lundqvist, who missed yesterday's practice (the team said it was a maintenance day; he said he "had to take care of a few things myself" ), was back in net today. He's almost a lock to play tomorrow, and he talked about how he "wanted to improve my record up there....Sometimes (with Hockey Night in Canada at Bell Centre), you want to do too much. It gets crazy, but it's a great atmosphere."

I don't see Martin Biron playing until possibly in Florida on the 23rd....

More later....
