Torts on Anisimov, Sauer, Drury, Prospal, and D getting involved offensively

No. 1: Same lineup for the rematch at MSG, plus Henrik Lundqvist.

Artem Anisimov, who has a goal and no assists in the past 10 games, "is in a little bit of a valley", coach John Tortorella said tonight. "I need to get Artie some more time; he did some good things defensively Friday. (Alex) Frolov’s another one. we’ve got to find a way to get him going. They way the game was played--- up and down, back and forth---in the third period, I wanted to play four lines, I played three. I don’t think (Artie's)  tired. It's the same type of situation as Step (Derek Stepan). I watched the tape and probably should have played him some more where other guys struggled defensively. He's a big part of our core, we just can’t forget what he did early in the years and I think he’ll get back to that."

Rookie Michael Sauer: "I like the way he played (Thursday), I thought he struggled against Pitt. The key to his game, he stays within himself...he's getting better and better positionally, as having plays come thru him. I love his edge. He has, and no one talks about it, a pretty good sense of when to come in offensively. He's not a terribly skilled offensive player, but he reads the plays and knows when to come in. That’s important for tonight, there are times when not only him, a couple other guys were open. A lot of times we end up playing three on five, down below the hash-marks, we need to use the width and not cycle the puck on one side; just getting the d involved, not just on rushes but in rotations."

" When we’re trying to get them (defensemen) involved in the rotation, going to the net, being underneath the hashmarks sometimes, I don’t think it’s the best idea trying to pick a corner.  if you’re going to miss, miss on the net (and create a rebound).  Our best chances in last few games have been shot wide…We need to concentrate more than just trying to score pretty goals. "

On injuries: Brandon Prust's left arm and shoulder is "sore from the fighting he’s done, it's been yanked around a bit, right now in talking to (trainer Jim Ramsay), he should be ready to go." If not Todd White will be in.

Chris Drury (broken finger) "can pass, not shoot. Each day it gets better... Vinny (Prospal) has been on ice a couple times, 15 or 20 minutes, no equipment, sweat pants." Prospal's surgically repaired knee is still "weak, but it’s moving forward. In talking to Rammer, he’s really encouraged. Those two guys punch the clock everyday, five or six hours doing their stuff."

Prospect Jesper Fasth, (3 goals, 7 assists in six SuperElit games with HV71 J20) was invited to Team Sweden’s 31-man preliminary camp roster for the World Junior championships. Fasth, 18, was selected in the sixth round of June’s draft.
