First, naturally we'll be watching as Wednesday's 3 p.m. trade deadline approaches.
I will say it again, because of all the tweets and emails, etc. Do not believe the Rangers will add anything more than depth unless Sather and Gorton find a really good deal. Prices are high. They are in on Ryane Clowe, but really, if he wants an extension, the Rangers are already squeezed for next season without a buyout.
Blueshirts skate today at noon.
And here's those two quotes I teased:
Ryan Callahan: “We’ve underachieved so far this year to this point. That’s the thing, we’ve just got to make it (to the playoffs) and that’s the attitude we have right now. We’ve just got to get into the playoffs and then it’s a new season.”
Torts on the rookies: “I’m worried about Millsy (J.T. Miller) we play so many close games, it’s too many mistakes. Quite honestly, I’m worried about the two kids (Chris Kreider included). Not that I’m upset with them, I just think the stakes are high. We play so many close games, I just have to watch how they go through a game and do I trust them? Yeah I’m kind of up in the air there because I don’t want to screw up their development either but the stakes are too high right now so we’ll see where we’ll go with it.”
