If you weren't watching this morning, or following on Twitter, the USA kids beat defending champ Sweden 3-1 in the World Junior Championships final in Ufa, Russia. Great run for the youngsters, several of whom are draft eligible, especially knocking off favored Canada in the semis.

Three players from the squad, including stellar goalie John Gibson (voted tourney MVP) and Rangers 19-year-old forward J.T. Miller (nine points in seven games at center) were on the team last year, which finished a disappointing seventh. Miller, who also played well defensively, will be back with the AHL's Connecticut  Whale soon.

NHL Network is reairing all the Team USA games tomorrow.

Wonder when the first NHL game will be on?   Depends on how the CBA negotiations unfold during the next five or six days....
