CBA talks are expected to resume Wednesday, with mediators from the FederalMediation and Conciliation Service, according to multiple reports. Supposedly at an undisclosed location. No media allowed.

The participants will surely be the Big Four: Bettman,Daly and the Fehrs. As we've mentioned soooooo many times, a deal can't get done without 'em.  May be some players in the session as well; no owners.

The mediators met with the two sides over two days at a agency sub-regional office in Iselin, N.J. on Nov. 29-30 and left because the sides were too far apart, but said they would keep in touch.  Apparently, they are closer now.

Personally, I don't expect a new CBA to magically appear Wednesday, but eventually, as the cooling off period ends and hockey's fiscal cliff (a 48-game season) approaches...
