Prospal had his knee 'scoped this morning and the Rangers' second leading scorer (8-24 in 38 games) will be out at least 10 days, but it should be closer to the 2-3 week mark. He's 34 after all.
This is a major blow to an offense that's already floundering, as Prospal had instant chemistry with Marian Gaborik and the two have been going strong for much of the season. Now Gaborik will have to find another running mate for the next 7-8 games.
The only plus could be that the Czech Olympic team may not want Prospal now if he's coming off surgery. But that's about the only plus right now.
Rangers have today off and are back at practice tomorrow. We'll have more then.
