When the Rangers charter had mechanical problems in White Plains, the team's travelling party divided up between two smaller planes and two helicopters to fly to Boston yesterday afternoon.
Among the players on the choppers: Henrik Lundqvist, Artem Anisimov, Matt Gilroy and Enver Lisin. The coaches were on the other. GM Glen Sather and Jim Schoenfeld were on a plane.
Erik Christensen, who was on one of the planes, said he wasn't sure how the passengers were selected. "Just happy to land. As long as we got here safely," said Christensen.
Same lineup here for NYR. Lisin and Aaron Voros healthy scratches for fourth straight. Tortorella: "This lineup gives us the best chance to win." He says a game like today's will determine whether right players are on the team.
"They’re focused. If we’re not ready to play hard and do the things we need to do…you have to question whether we have the right guys on the bus. I think they’re ready to play. We need a number of big plays, a big save, but I think they’re in the right mindset…I think this is their job, I just can’t comprehend anybody not being ready to play. We talked about it before the Philly game, it’s a great opportunity."
