Lots of ifs here....

IF

Bylsma takes the fall for not meshing the talent....Let's remember, he did yank M.A. Fleury at the right time and kept Vokoun sharp all season...And how do Crosby and Malkin not manage a point in four games?

IF

Lemieux and Shero allow Bylsma to speak with the Rangers. He's got a year left on his contract.

IF

Glen Sather can turn down Alain Vigneault and long-time compatriot Mark Messier.

IF

Byslma couldn't get past the Conference Finals with the potent lineup he had, is he really the right fit? Or did Shero tinker too much?

Should be an interesting month. Rangers begin organizational meetings in California on Monday with lots on the plate:  Head coach, assistants, Lundqvist, Richards, RFAs, UFAs, the draft, wheeling and dealing, prospect camp....Stay tuned here, @stevezipay on Twitter, on newsday.com and of course, in good ol' print daily.
