The 24-year-old left wing, acquired from Phoenix on Jan. 10 for Michal Rozsival after Alex Frolov blew out his knee, will be scratched tonight for the first time as a Ranger.
"It's not a part of the game you want to be part of," Wolski said. "I've had a couple tough games and they're holding me accountable. I'm not playing as well as I should. I have a lot more to give."
Wolski admitted his inconsistency. "I've got to be there every night. I'm a better player than I've shown. We're fighting to get into the playoffs...I'm not going to give you a fairy-tale answer. I'm not expecting anything for free."
Although he scored a critical third-round goal to extend the shootout in San Jose, the streaky Wolski was ineffective during the California trip and has no goals in his last eight games. He is 5-11-16 in 27 games.
