Mike Bossy scores for All-Stars

Islanders star Mike Bossy had a goal and an assist as the NHL All-Stars beat the Soviet Union, 4-2, before a crowd of 17,438 in the opener of the three-game Challenge Cup Series at Madison Square Garden. The exhibition replaced the NHL's All-Star festivities that year. The Soviet Union rallied to take the series with a 5-4 win in the second game and a 6-0 rout in the finale. Bossy, then in his second year, finished that season with a league-high 69 goals.
