Triple Crown champion American Pharoah is scheduled to take an 8 a.m. equine charter flight on Thursday from Louisville International Airport to Ontario International Airport in Southern California, according to a Churchill Downs release.

Trainer Bob Baffert, assistant trainer Jimmy Barnes and exercise rider Georgie Alvarez will accompany the colt back to Santa Anita.

Last Saturday, owner-breeder Ahmed Zayat all but guaranteed that Pharoah's next race will be the Haskell on Aug. 2 at Monmouth Park.

According to multiple reports, Del Mar, near San Diego, is trying to lure the 3-year-old superstar to the Aug. 22 Pacific Classic, which is open to older horses.
