Aqueduct horse racing selections for Dec. 12

Best Bet: PETROCELLI (5); Best Value: LOOKING COOL (6)

FIRST: Castaway drops and owns fast back figures. Mach Seven makes first start since claimed by Rudy Rodriguez. In the Beat would be aided by pace meltdown.

SECOND: Vancouver projects as the main speed in compact field. Surfspun is training sharply for first start since August; more than good enough on best. Humbolt Street logged only lifetime win on inner track; price will be tempting.

THIRD: More Zen Tea is fleet-footed and should be favorably positioned in small but contentious field. Readtheprospectus was a game second versus a pricier group last time; big-time player. This Hard Land packs potent late kick on best. Goodtolook is speedy and drops; right in the thick of this.

FOURTH: Nobody Move was an even fourth in debut; improvement predicted. Domus drops and moves to dirt; wake-up potential. Guyana Cat makes quick comeback and owns competitive numbers on best; don’t ignore.

FIFTH: Petrocelli looms the controlling front-runner on the fence in first start since claimed by David Jacobson. Village Warrior could be sitting in the garden spot if top selection hits the wall in the lane. Bird Prince exits sprints and should be advantageously positioned; worth long look.

SIXTH: Looking Cool regressed in last after fast-figured placing in prior; rebounds. Grandpa Len tallied improved internal numbers in last; very interesting. Lifes Reward was a hard-charging second in last and now makes first start for Danny Gargan; must consider.

SEVENTH: Leave the Light On impressed last fall and is training strongly for return; rail draw seals the deal. North Slope is firing bullets, loves the winterized surface and owns fast back figures; very dangerous. Dance Champion ships up from Florida after logging 5-furlong bullet at Payson Park; don’t dismiss. Cerro could prove very tough on an unchallenged.

EIGHTH: Carameaway is speedy, rested and firing bullets; wire to wire with aggressive ride. Flipcup notched a pair of strong scores in last two starts at WO and logged four tight works in the interim; very dangerous. Sheriffa loves to win and is effective from on or off the pace.

NINTH: Gaming is improving with every start; timid call in wide-open nightcap. Guaranteed makes peak start of form cycle after displaying improved speed in last. Shootout debuts for Mike Maker; follow the money. Kiner’s Korner also makes first start but Jeremiah Englehart barn has yet to find the winner’s circle this meet.
