FIRST: Hokulea owns fast late-pace figures and makes quick return after finishing third last week; more to come. Carmine’s Honor is speedy and could prove very tough on an unchallenged lead. Three Goals was a fast-figured second as the favorite last time; short-priced player once again.
SECOND: Netti’s Legacy gets favorable cutback to sprint and should offer playable price in weak maiden field. Viradia is fresh, drops and hails from white-hot Linda Rice barn; likely underlay. Straw Hat owns speed and adds blinkers; front-running threat.
THIRD: Impazible Woman was a determined maiden winner in last and is primed to pair up victories in N2L claimer. Forres Lily is a front-runner that should be aided by cutback to 6 furlongs. Jetsam Six needed last and could be the prime beneficiary if pace meltdown ensues.
FOURTH: Pop the Hood is firing bullets for first start since August and could speed pop this field with aggressive ride. Gorgeous Charli is rested and owns speed and fast numbers; very dangerous. True Timber could be ideally positioned in the stalker’s seat; worth long look.
FIFTH: Groton St Scout makes first start since moving to the competent Eddie Barker barn; call based on price. Our Whim owns fast numbers and hails from Steve Asmussen stable but looms a likely underlay; for chalk lovers only. Jump for Joy, another short-priced contender, was second as the public choice last time; be no surprise.
SIXTH: Susans Funnybone compiled tight work tab for first start with maiden-claiming tag; soft spot. Scottish Devil also drops into maiden selling ranks and fired swift half-mile drill last week; very playable. Wheresthebarber is a newcomer that must be factored into the mix if the money shows.
SEVENTH: Battle Station has been gelded since sub-par effort last month; rebounds today. Stoney Bennett also fired a dud in last but has trained well in the interim and could bounce back at generous price. New York Hero owns a win and two seconds from three starts; hard to toss.
EIGHTH: Conquest Twister was a tough-trip third to a repeat winner in last start; faster back numbers seal the deal. Shuffle Up owns fast figures but takes suspicious price plunge in first start since claimed in August; fire sale? Bluegrass Singer is speedy and most be given a puncher’s chance at fat ticket.
