Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Sunday, March 25

FIRST: Full of Mine wheels back in a hurry after logging swift late-pace figure when winning on March 18; more to come. Micozzi drops and owns fast numbers; underlay potential. Kenyan has finished third in last two starts; more of the same?

SECOND: Forever Rising is riding a forward line on the numbers and notched 5-furlong work since last start; set for best. Opus Ono compiled tight work tab for first start since January; very interesting. Impazible Creek gets price plunge after clear-cut second in last; fire sale?

THIRD: Classic Stones is quick from the gate and looms the main speed on the fence in weak field. Sand City also is fleet-footed and could prove very tough if able to clear top selection. Our Whim makes third start of form cycle after displaying improved speed in last; very interesting.

FOURTH: Status Asthmaticus was a much-improved fourth last time and should take another forward step at generous price. Sunblock logged solid training tab for first start since August; very dangerous. Scripted was pace and position compromised when third in well-bet debut; improvement expected.

FIFTH: Simona regressed in last after fast-figured, front-end victory in previous start; rebounds. Karen’s Gem logged swift numbers when breaking maiden by more than six lengths last time; very dangerous. Jump Ruler owns speed and rapid figures; right in the thick of this.

SIXTH: Afleet Martini logged 5-furlong work since determined win at this level in last; pairs up. Fielding Gold also won last start and makes first start since claimed by Brad Cox; big-time player. Nigel’s Destiny logged three sharp workouts since being defeated by 38 lengths in last; “A” game is more than good enough.

SEVENTH: Ballard High has trained swiftly since tallying better-than-it-looks final fraction when a tough-trip fifth in debut; forward move predicted. Racing Raven has finished second to much-the-best winners in last two starts; be no surprise. Road to Meath is training sharply for first start since November for Chad Brown; right in the thick of this. Split Verdict is another that has worked with a purpose since last outing; must be factored into the mix.

EIGHTH: Lezendary, one of three uncoupled starters for Rudy Rodriguez, could be ideally positioned in the stalker’s seat in wide-open Cicada Stakes. Strategic Dreams has won 4 of 5 starts for Rodriguez; logical. Danyelli, also from Rodriguez barn, could play out as the speed of the speed. Gibby is a rare shipper to the NYRA circuit for Scott Lake; don’t ignore.

NINTH: Big Expense made sustained rally after poor start when second to a nine-length winner last time; more to give. Devil Buster is speedy and could prove very tough on a soft lead. Princess Rashelle was a game second at 41-1 last time; must consider. Blue Eyes was just a half-length behind top selection when third on March 3; developing and dangerous.
