Steve Matthews' Belmont selections for Saturday, Oct. 13

FIRST: Herecomesyourman regressed in last start after logging series of strong efforts this past summer; rebounds. Lemonist was a hard-charging second in last two; logical, short-priced threat. Wet Your Whistle owns speed and could prove very tough on a soft lead.

SECOND: Sal the Turtle makes first start since claimed by high-octane Jorge Navarro barn; rates close call. Big Guy Ian is rested and owns speed and fast final figures; very dangerous. Rockford delivered subpar effort in last but is more than good enough on "A" game.

THIRD: Bad Guy tallied career-best late-pace figure when fourth in last; more to come. La Manche is fleet-footed and training with a purpose for first start in seven weeks; very interesting. Perfect Joke was compromised by wide trip in lone turf start; price will be tempting.

FOURTH: Life's a Parlay compiled eye-catching work slate for first start since January; primed and ready. Morning Breez was seven lengths clear of third finisher when a game second last time; dangerous. Regal Quality made sustained rally to win last at Laurel; right in the thick of this.

FIFTH: Neon is training sharply for first start since July; weakness of field is selection's strength. Astrology Hill is speedy and could prove very tough to collar on an unchallenged lead. Majestic Kiss notched tight work tab for first start since April; don't ignore.

SIXTH: Catsoutofthebag fired half-mile bullet for first grass start; main speed with aggressive ride. Brooke Marie owns field's fastest grass figures and hails from the suddenly-live Christophe Clement barn; very dangerous. Style and Grace is from a dam that has thrown six turf winners; very interesting.

SEVENTH: Full Salute makes first start since claimed by Rudy Rodriguez; controlling speed on the fence. Scarf It Down gets confident price hike after determined win in last; sharp, recent work slate adds to appeal. Imasuperstar is ultra-consistent and owns positional speed; must consider.

EIGHTH: Tillie's Lily was compromised by poor start in last; speed of the speed with better getaway. Rocky Policy fired 5-furlong bullet since coming up short in the stretch last time; very playable. Lull packs solid late kick and makes peak start of form cycle; big-time threat.

NINTH: Kitten's Covergirl stretches to distance that has accounted for 2 of 3 wins; three tight works since last start seals the deal. Got Stormy owns fast late-pace figures and is riding a three-race winning streak; very dangerous. Altea (tight work tab), Stella di Camelot (makes stateside debut) and Significant Form (owns fast figures on best efforts) are three uncoupled runners from Chad Brown barn; nobody said this game was fair.

TENTH: Dynamite Kitten logged tightly grouped work tab for first start with maiden-claiming tag; rail draw on inner course is the clincher. Handle With Care was a tough-trip fourth in last; developing and dangerous. Crater Rim has finished third in last four starts; continues trend? Adorable Song is training with a purpose for first start since moving to H. James Bond barn; must be factored into the mix.
