Steve Matthews' Belmont selections for Friday, Oct. 26

Best bet: QUALITY TIME (8)

Best value: WILD BOAR (3)

FIRST: Win With Pride wheels back in a hurry after winning second straight just two weeks ago; keeps on giving. Almithmaar fired half-mile bullet since being cooked by hot fractions last time; dangerous. Helooksthepart consistently logs fast numbers and makes first start since claimed by Robertino Diodoro; right in the thick of this.

SECOND: Glennwood is from a dam that has thrown three grass winners; throw deep in wide-open field. Frontier Market was a fast-figured maiden winner at 85 cents on the dollar last time; underlay once again. Leaveematthegate was eliminated by poor start in last; worth long look at long price.

THIRD: Wild Boar has drilled four times since tough-trip fourth in debut; improvement predicted. Show Prince fired 3-furlong bullet since game placing in debut; dangerous. Rally Cap compiled eye-catching work slate for debut; could be the goods.

FOURTH: Psychic Energy was an even fourth in first start since four-month absence last time; forward move predicted. Discretionary Marq was a front-end winner for this price in last; dangerous. Ethan Hunt was just a nose behind "Marq" when second on Sept. 21; must be considered.

FIFTH: Our American Star makes peak start of form cycle after strong second in last; more to give. Ready to Escape owns two seconds and two thirds from four starts; minor award again? San Juan Diego should pack amplified kick with cutback to 7 furlongs; very playable.

SIXTH: Tathqeef owns fast late-pace figures on best efforts and fired half-mile bullet last week. Holiday Bonus regressed in last start after fast-figured placing in prior; rebound threat. Acoustic also took backward step in most recent after pairing up fast-figured seconds in prior two; dangerous.

SEVENTH: Binary has trained strongly for first start in eight weeks; primed for breakthrough. Epic Dreamer logged rapid late-pace and final figures when second in debut; could easily take this. Bring the Dough has worked sharply for second start for Chad Brown; gets the dough?

EIGHTH: Quality Time gets confident price boost after clear-cut win on Tapeta surface at Presque Isle Downs last out; transfers razor-sharp form to turf. Closer Still makes quick return (13 days) and gets class relief; worth long look. Rumble Doll packs strong late wallop on best efforts; must be factored into the mix.

NINTH: Kulin Rock makes first start since claimed by Jeremiah Englehart and owns field's fastest final fractions on "A" efforts. Gosilently is speedy, sharp and should be aided by cutback to shorter route; very dangerous. Bobby G was a useful fourth in first start since 10-month layoff last time; very interesting. Lil Commissioner owns positional speed and makes peak start of form cycle; must consider.
