Madefromlucky out of Derby, Keen Ice gets in

Kentucky Derby hopeful Stanford, right, ridden by exercise

Trainer Todd Pletcher announced that Madefromlucky will not run in Saturday's Kentucky Derby.

The defection opened the 20th spot in the field for long shot Keen Ice, whom three-time Derby winner Kent Desormeaux will ride.

Pletcher was displeased with Madefromlucky's workout Friday at Churchill Downs, as was rider John Velazquez.

Pletcher is expected to enter four horses -- Carpe Diem, Materiality, Stanford and Itsaknockout -- at Wednesday's Derby draw.
