FIRST: Honorable Jonas owns sprinter’s speed and returns to maiden claimers; controlling front-runner in weak opener. It Must Be Nice runs late and could be in the garden spot if top selection wilts in the stretch. Lorimer Street ships in from Finger Lakes and owns competitive numbers; big-time player.
SECOND: Morethanjusthello takes significant price drop, returns to dirt and makes peak start of form cycle; forward move predicted. Army Brat is speedy and fired half-mile bullet for first start since April; easilycould take this if ready. Foxy Posse has worked three times since front-running score on Oct. 7; must be factored into the mix.
THIRD: Storm Pursuit projects as the speed of the speed with aggressive ride. Fullfaithandcredit owns stalker’s style and looms the prime beneficiary if pace meltdown ensues. Street Lord is fleet-footed and could make life miserable for those that wager on Storm Pursuit.
FOURTH: Bow Town Cat is fleet-footed and fired two bullet works since last start; controlling speed. Muselet packs solid late kick and will be favorably positioned if top selection hits the wall in the lane. Preppy is another that could impact if front-end collapse comes to pass.
FIFTH: Ro Bear bested a next-out winner when notching determined score in last at Finger Lakes; more to give. Here Comes Tommy consistently delivers strong efforts but owns just two wins from 42 starts; demand square price. Zabaione was a game second in last and should have more in the tank in second start since nine-month layoff.
SIXTH: Rosedale Arch could play out as the controlling speed by default in field that’s light on front-runners. Queen of Spades also has displayed early foot (albeit in turf races) and has the benefit of the rail; dangerous. Ice Palace logged only win on inner oval and compiled four tight works for first start in 49 days; very playable.
SEVENTH: Backsideofthemoon was a fast-figured winner on the inner track last winter and is working with a purpose for return to preferred footing. Muqtaser notched swift internal and final numbers when winning on Oct. 21; big-time threat. Send It In is 3-for-3 on winterized oval but has been idle since March; must take the good with the bad. Fabulous Kid owns fast figures on “A” game; right in the thick of this.
EIGHTH: Shesmyheartandsoul earned solid internal number when making sustained run after poor start last time; more to come. Leftovers logged solid late-pace figures in both starts and is worth long look at long price. Kahramani took backward step on turf last time after fast-figured placing on dirt in previous start; big-time rebound potential. Seven East was an even fifth in debut; improvement expected with race under belt.
