Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Friday, Feb. 24

Best Bet: CAN YOU DIGGIT (6)

Best Value: BRACKEN BELLE (8)

FIRST: Yummy Bear was third in first start since six-month layoff last time; tighter today. Read the Dream has finished second in last four starts; continues trend? Oh So Sinister owns competitive numbers on best efforts; price will be tempting.

SECOND: Ima Wildcat projects as the main speed in compact field. John’s Island looms the prime beneficiary if top selection hits the wall in the stretch. Monster Mash was reclaimed by Rudy Rodriguez last time; more than good enough on “A” game.

THIRD: He Can Dance makes quick return after being compromised by poor start last week; rates close call. Breeze Burner owns two wins from three starts; logical, short-priced threat. Can’tmakethisup bested a next-out winner when victorious in debut at Gulfstream on Jan. 8; worth long look.

FOURTH: Guayana tallied swift late-pace figure when a clear-cut second last time; more to give. Kate Is a Ten makes peak start of form cycle after game placing in last; dangerous. Can Can Babe owns speed, fast figures and drops; short price is the problem.

FIFTH: Yourcreditisgood exits sprints and may play out as the speed on the rail in field that’s light on front-runners. Boomerang Becky is riding a forward line on the numbers but has failed as the favorite in three of last four starts; you’ve been warned. Fly Ash bested “Becky” by more than a length when a hard-charging second in last; right in the thick of this.

SIXTH: Can You Diggit notched rapid final fraction when a last-to-first winner on Jan. 21; three tight works in the interim seals the deal. Stretch’s Stone tallied rapid figure when breaking maiden on Dec. 18 but must overcome outside post in first two-turn start; mixed message. Hampton’s Holiday runs late and could be aided by added ground.

SEVENTH: She’s So Fine has visually and numerically impressed in winning last two outings; more to come. Riot Worthy owns three wins and six seconds in last 10 starts; very dangerous. Natalie Victoria can prove to be a front-end threat on best efforts; price will be tempting.

EIGHTH: Bracken Belle is speedy, starts from the fence and compiled tight work tab for first start since December; wire to wire. Grand Beso regressed last time out after late-running third at this level in debut; bounce-back threat at a fat price. Miss Meadowbrook displayed good turn of late foot after slow getaway in debut; dangerous. Mini Megan makes third start since two-month layoff; improvement expected.
