Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Friday, Nov. 18

Best Bet: SILKY WAY (9); Best Value: ELLENVELYN (5)

FIRST: River Date owns speed, fast figures and makes first start since claimed by Rudy Rodriguez; need more? Kenyan runs late and could be in the garden spot if pace meltdown ensues. Instant Replay logged two thirds and and a second in last three starts; include in exotics.

SECOND: Zayat Stables entry: Deal Driven displayed improved speed in last and mate Kinder was a tough-trip fourth in debut; potent pairing. Chatterpaul entry: Sir Temple City gets Lasix and mate Leftovers wheels back in a hurry after fourth in debut last week; very interesting. Thirsty Actor is from a high-percentage, first-out sire; follow the money.

THIRD: DiPrima entry: Husband’s Folly was pace and trip compromised last time and mate Plainview is speedy and owns fast numbers; just one goes with Antonio Gallardo listed on both. Dream Man packs powerful late run and holds razor-sharp current form; very dangerous. Skill Not Luck will be favorably positioned near the front; price will be tempting.

FOURTH: Indian Solider needed last and could be primed for forward move in first start with maiden-claiming tag. Buckwell Spent was second in last; logical, short-priced player. Southern Gentleman logged career-best number on Big A soil; don’t ignore.

FIFTH: Ellenvelyn is fresh, training with a purpose and projects as the controlling speed. Ten Penny Princess has worked sharply since hard-charging win in last; very dangerous. Tizthefastlaine is riding a two-race winning streak and should offer generous ticket; very playable.

SIXTH: Giant Ending tallied solid final fraction when a tough-trip fourth in debut; more to give. Filly Madison returns to dirt and cuts back to 6 furlongs; front-running threat. Andale Julia was an even fifth in debut; dangerous with second-out improvement.

SEVENTH: Queen of Spades was a “soft” winner in last and should have ample reserves to deliver another score. Buffalo Miss is speedy and could play out as the controlling front-runner; very dangerous. Wantagh Queen has finished third in last four starts; continues trend? Pussy Willow is fleet-footed and must be given a puncher’s chance at a price.

EIGHTH: My Won Love was a late-running second in last at Belmont Park and is a two-time winner at the Big A; call based on price. Court Dancer owns speed, fast figures and makes peak start of form cycle; dangerous. Lightning Lilly is firing bullets for first start since July; worth long look.

NINTH: Silky Way notched five tight works since better-than-it-looks sixth in debut; addition of Lasix seals the deal. Jo’s Bold Cat finished second in both grass starts and is training sharply for first outing in 48 days. The Great Samurai owns three seconds in four turf starts; right in the thick of this. Speightful Kitten owns a running style that should be aided by today’s added ground. Louisiana Lady’s speed must be respected.
