Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Sunday, March 26

FIRST: Charming Indy gets confident price boost after clear-cut second in last; call based on price potential. Buckwellspent owns sprinter’s speed and projects as the controlling front-runner; very dangerous. Ready Dancer drops and owns fast figures; easily could take this.

SECOND: Bunyaan tallied swift late-pace number when a strong second in last; more to give. Irish Hope is speedy, adds blinkers and could prove very tough on a soft lead. Mister Hayes is riding a forward line on the numbers; dangerous.

THIRD: Timely Tradition was a 13-length maiden winner in lone inner-track start and has worked sharply in the interim; rail draw seals the deal. Zealous Scholar was a front-running winner in last and could play out as the controlling speed once again. Karen Kan is working with a purpose for first start in 10 weeks; don’t ignore.

FOURTH: Forres Lily has been victimized by wide trips in last two starts; rates close call. Jax owns speed and drops to lifetime low; very playable. My Ekati Cat was a game second in last; right in the thick of this.

FIFTH: Big Discovery was a confident winner in only start on winterized oval; pairs up victories. Readthebyline was a fast-figured second in last and has the benefit of the rail; very dangerous. Abounding Spirit holds razor-sharp current condition; must be considered.

SIXTH: Honor and Pleasure makes first start with maiden-claiming tag and first start since gelded; primed for breakthrough. Control Group owns swift numbers and makes first start since claimed by Rudy Rodriguez; logical, short-priced threat. Promise the Sky could impact if pace meltdown ensues.

SEVENTH: Dr Luber’s Kiss was pace and position compromised when a better-than-it-looks fourth in last; throw deep in weak field. Two Times Book is speedy and rested; wire-to-wire threat at generous ticket. Chosen One Elijah makes quick return after decisive victory last Saturday; must be factored into the mix.

EIGHTH: Arch or Nothing makes peak start of form cycle and stretches to distance of only career win; set for best. Say Cin Cin has logged swift numbers in last three starts; very dangerous. Smile Big hails from Rodriguez barn and delivers strong efforts with machine-like consistency; be no surprise.

NINTH: Double Mane is fleet-footed and is training sharply for first start since July; controlling speed with aggressive handling. Distinctive Dyna tallied solid late-pace figure when making seven-wide rally to land third last time; continues forward progression. Lady’s First was second when favored in last; logical contender. Melodramatic Miss has finished second at short odds in last four starts; for chalk lovers only.
