Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Thursday, April 14

Best Value: PRIVATE TALE (6)

FIRST: Wild Chatter owns solid late pace figures and was a winner off a layoff this past summer. Sweet Corinna owns speed and could prove very tough on an unchallenged lead. Break Away makes peak start of form cycle; dangerous.

SECOND: Super Psyche should find already ample late kick intensified with cutback to one-turn mile. Feets of Strength is fleet-footed and could play out as the controlling speed; very dangerous. Mascarello tallied improved late pace figure in last; very interesting.

THIRD: Gloves Off tallied deceptively fast final fraction in lone turf start; 5-furlong bullet on April 6 seals the deal. Sixbits logged five tight works for first start since seven-week freshener; very playable. Im a Prankster should be favorably positioned near the front at fat odds; worth long look.

FOURTH: Money’soncharlotte is training sharply for first start since August; outside post is the clincher. Milaya was a clear-cut winner in last; big-time player. Jules N Rome owns speed and fast figures; very dangerous.

FIFTH: Ranger’s Express moves to preferred footing (turf) and makes third start of form cycle; first-time maiden claimer makes the difference. Pussy Willow made late run in sprint debut on Gulfstream Park sod and should be aided by today’s longer trip. Karenina Gal owns speed and could capitalize on unchallenged lead; don’t ignore. Weekend Hottie has the benefit of the rail on tight-turned turf course; must consider.

SIXTH: Private Tale returns to selling ranks after fast-figured placing 12 days ago; more to give. Pin and Win regressed in last after fast-figured win two starts back; rebound threat. Mordi’s Miracle drops in first start since claimed by David Jacobson; vulnerable at short ticket? Now We Are Free displayed improved speed in last; don’t dismiss.

SEVENTH: Lady Bling won lone start on Big A sod when returning from similar layoff last spring; history repeats. Jc’s Shooting Star returns to grass after notching improved final fraction in last; very playable from the rail. Take It Inside is speedy and can prove very tough on a soft lead.

EIGHTH: Sunny Puzzle gets class relief after being done in by hot fractions last time; bounces back to effort two starts back. Casiguapo could be the prime beneficiary if top selection hits the wall in the lane. Summit Moon has finished second in last three outings and also would be aided by pace meltdown. Coaches Challenge wheels back in a hurry and owns competitive numbers on best efforts.
