Steve Matthews’ Aqueduct selections for Wednesday, April 13

Best Bet: CUANTOS (1)

Best Value: BOMBADIER (4)

FIRST: Cuantos is fresh, adds blinkers and projects as the controlling speed with aggressive ride. Rich ‘n’ Tuck was an ultra-game second in last; dangerous. Imslopokerodriguez is riding a two-race winning streak; must consider.

SECOND: Miss Amalita gets price hike after fast-figured win in last; more to come. Mastic should pack enhanced staying power with cutback to sprint. Little Miss Lupe owns two wins from four starts on Big A’s main track; worth long look at long price.

THIRD: Saratoga Sight logged three tight works since breaking maiden on Feb. 28; pairs up. You Got It also broke maiden in last and worked 5 furlongs last week; dangerous. Texas Tea drops after hitting the wall in the lane last time; more than good enough if all is well.

FOURTH: Bombadier is firing bullets for first start since gelded; drop to maiden claimer seals the deal. Afleet Martini has logged fast figs in all three starts; logical, short-priced player. Brolic was game second in last and makes first outing since claimed by David Jacobson; big-time threat.

FIFTH: Joking tallied rapid final fraction when a solid second in last; call based on recency over second selection. Mean Season owns speed and fast numbers but continually goes to the sidelines after one race; vulnerable at short ticket? Fabulous Kid is fresh and owns swift figures on best efforts.

SIXTH: Startwithsilver is training consistently for potent layoff barn; call in wide-open maiden dash. Young Anna Lee owns speed and also is working sharply for return from layoff; dangerous. Meatball Maddnes outworked 103 rivals in half-mile drill on Saturday; stay tuned to the tote.

SEVENTH: Sound of Freedom owns solid back numbers and gets class relief after even fifth in last. Conquest Kronos (two works since last start) and Salem Loop (earned career-best number on Big A’s man track) dead-heated for place honors last time; both are dangerous. Vancouver is speedy and logged only win on Big A’s outer surface; don’t ignore.

EIGHTH: Sam Sparkle notched lifetime-best late pace figure when a hard-charging third in last; call based on price potential. Maleeh owns field’s fastest final numbers on best efforts; very dangerous. Fortuitous Path fired 5-furlong bullet since even fourth in first start since two-month layoff; right in the thick of this.

NINTH: Cuckoo’s Saloon projects as the controlling speed in turf debut if able to escape AE list. Said No One Ever compiled work slate that culminated with eye-catching half-mile bullet last week; primed and ready. D. S. Boyd notched improved final fraction in last; return to grass suits. Randie’s Dream is from a dam that’s produced four turf winners; improvement expected.
