SECOND: Peculiar Sensation was a determined, front-end winner in last; pairs up. J.J. Jake also won last (albeit on dirt) and easily could transfer sharp form to grass. E J’s Legacy returns to turf for Linda Rice; right in the thick of this. Go Go Lucky needed last and logged only win on Belmont grass; very interesting.
THIRD: Secret Scholar is riding a forward line on internal and final numbers; set for best. Summer Bourbon makes first start since gelded; wake-up potential. Go Pita Go is training consistently for first start since April; don’t ignore.
FOURTH: Fear No Evil owns speed and moves to grass with turf pedigree; breakthrough predicted. Bogulator has finished second in both starts; continues pattern? Defiant Honor logged solid final fraction in debut; must be considered if able to escape AE list. Wake Island, another that needs scratches to get in, has delivered strong efforts on both starts. Happy Motoring has trained sharply since debut; improvement expected.
FIFTH: Momameamaria needed last and projects as the speed of the speed with aggressive ride. Stonetastic also is quick from the gate and will prove very tough if able to secure clear lead. She’s Hot Wired gets favorable cutback to 6 furlongs and could be in the garden spot if pace meltdown ensues.
SIXTH: Baseline compiled eye-catching work tab for first grass outing; bred to handle surface switch. Jim and Susan Hill entry: Holiday Stone was a fast-figured second in debut and mate High Promise was a tough-trip fourth in first outing; potent pairing. Tempter debuts for Christophe Clement; tempting.
SEVENTH: Captain Gaughen owns fast late-pace figures and is training with a purpose for first start since August. Fearthefalcon exits hard-charging score in last; could easily pair up wins. Excluded bested “Falcon” by a nose when winning on Sept. 21; must be considered. Final Chapter is 2-for-2 on Belmont turf; very dangerous.
EIGHTH: Accepting logged determined, front-running score in first start of Belmont grass; more to give. Create a Dream was pace and trip compromised when fourth in stateside debut; dangerous. Chubby Star also endured rough journey in same last race as “Dream”; worth long look at long price.
NINTH: Bea Bea displayed improved speed in last and fired 3-furlong bullet on Monday; set for best. Flying K C should pack amplified wallop with cutback to sprint; dangerous. Cats Halo also will possess intensified kick at shorter trip. Kiss the Flag is training strongly for first start since August; must respect. Brandi’s Diva has the pedigree to improve with switch to sod; stay tuned to the tote.
