Best Bet: SPRING ON CURLIN (4); Best Value: KITTY MADDNES (6)

FIRST: Forge tallied swift late-pace figure when breaking maiden at the distance last time; more to come. Northern is speedy, training sharply and could play out as the dominant front-runner; very dangerous. Scarf It Down has won two of last three starts; right in the thick of contentious opener.

SECOND: Get Jets unleashed sustained rally to win West Point last time; pairs up. Cloontia could capitalize on unchallenged lead in field that’s light on speed; very interesting. Call Provision overcame traffic jam to win at longer distance last time; big-time player.

THIRD: My Bronx Tail moves to grass after displaying improved speed in last start; call in race that’s jammed with newcomers. Lady Blessings adds blinkers after making forward move on the numbers in turf debut last time; price will be tempting. Bee Balm is from a dam that’s thrown two turf winners; follow the money.

FOURTH: Spring On Curlin fired 5-furlong bullet since notching rapid final fraction last time; more to give. Uncle Gio is training with a purpose for first start in more than a year for streaking Michelle Nevin stable; worth long look. Not in Charge ships in for Alan Goldberg; right in the thick of this.

FIFTH: Lucy N Ethel projects as the controlling speed from outside slot in compact field. Carina Mia should pack enhanced wallop with cutback to slightly shorter sprint. Highway Star owns four wins and a third from five starts at Belmont; must be factored into the mix.

SIXTH: Kitty Maddnes was a tough-trip third to a repeat winner last time; call based on price in wide-open NY-bred, turf route. Cool as You Like is working sharply for first grass start for Jimmy Toner; very playable. Pinchbeck has hit the board in last four starts; logical, short-priced threat.

SEVENTH: Proper Freud compiled tight work tab for first start since May and has shown a history of delivering winning efforts off the bench. Mighty Zealous tallied solid internal numbers in last and owns fast final figures on “A” game; very playable. Cause for Surprise owns two wins and a third in three starts on Belmont loam; must be considered.

EIGHTH: Barrel of Dreams is riding a two-race winning streak and fired half-mile bullet on Monday; gets three-peat. Ack Naughty tallied sizzling late-pace figure when a tough-trip fourth in last; very dangerous. Fourstar Crook, uncoupled entry mate of Ack Naughty, owns eight wins from 12 starts; for those that bet underlays.

NINTH: Throw the Deuce made sustained rally to land third after slow start in debut; more to give. Bourbonfuhrme sheds the blinkers after speed and fade in last; very interesting. News Anchor held more than 11 lengths to the good on third-place finisher when second by a neck last time; big-time threat. Iron Johnny gets first-time Lasix for Mike Maker; improvement expected.
