About That Base is from a dam that has produced two grass winners; worth long look. Filly Madison gets the meds and moves to turf after game placing to a runaway winner in first start; very playable.
THIRD: Kate Is a Ten was a two-move second in last and owns faster back figures. Bustin the Bank gets rider upgrade and could get early jump in field that’s light on speed. Onecats Chance has fired two bullet works since winning two of last three at Finger Lakes; very dangerous.
FOURTH: Moonshine Cate logged solid late-pace figures in both starts; rates close call. Preying Mantis displayed improved speed in last after late-running second in previous start; very playable. Catch Your Dreams was a strong second in debut; right in the thick of this.
FIFTH: Hit It Once More has trained sharply since top-figured win in NY Derby at Finger Lakes; more to give. Jet Black has hit the board in nine of last 10 starts; dangerous. Eden Ridge is the only member of this field with a win on Spa soil; very interesting.
SIXTH: Preferred Outcome fired half-mile bullet since useful third in debut; must draw into body of race. Danny’s Rush gets Lasix after non-stressful sixth in same race as top selection; also stuck on AE list. Benny Big Boy compiled four tight works since tough-trip fifth in debut; dangerous. Follow the Signs adds blinkers and moves to turf; must be considered.
SEVENTH: Tiznow’s Smile, a maiden meeting winners, gets blinkers/Lasix makeover for white-hot Charlie Baker barn after late-running fourth in debut; forward move predicted. Wilburnmoney did just that when second at short ticket in last; logical, short-priced player once again. Twist ‘n Shout visually and numerically impressed in winning debut; right in the thick of this.
EIGHTH: Invading Humor, a three-time winner on Spa sod, gets class relief and should be favorably positioned in big field. Neck of the Moon also owns three victories on Saratoga turf and would be aided by pace meltdown. Bar of Gold owns sprinter’s speed and could play out as the controlling front-runner in grass debut.
NINTH: Kharafa is riding a forward line on late-pace and final figures; rates close call. King Kreesa wheels back in a hurry after front-running fourth in Saturday’s Fourstardave; speedy and dangerous. Brother O’Connell has won three of last four; price will be tempting.
TENTH: Highway Star turned in subpar performance on turf last time; shines with return to dirt. Riot Worthy logged front-running score the first time he touched Spa loam last week; worth long look at long price. Super Surprise fired 5-furlong bullet since clear-cut win on opening week of meet; right in the thick of this.
ELEVENTH: D’ Eloquent was a late-running fourth in first grass start last time and gets added ground. Leaveematthegate was a strong second in last and should have more to give in second start since nine-month absence. Dot Matrix was victimized by poor start in last; more than good enough on “A” game. Oh So Sinister adds blinkers after displaying improved speed in last; price will be tempting.
