SECOND: Buffalo Miss gets favorable cutback to shorter sprint; call if able to escape AE list. Alyssa and a Lisa makes peak start of form cycle; also needs scratches to get in. Sanfiera, also on AE list, could play out as the speed of the speed in first start since Halloween. U Do That could be in the garden spot if pace meltdown ensues. Uptown Liza moves to grass after failing at 85 cents on the dollar last time; must consider.
THIRD: Grey Stark is fresh and owns fast late-pace figures. Half Irish is speedy and will prove very tough on a soft lead. Celestial Insight is riding a forward line on late-pace numbers; price will be tempting.
FOURTH: Unk has trained with a purpose since third behind a next-out winner in debut at Gulfstream in December; primed for return. One More Round is fleet-footed and could play out as the speed of the speed. Huntington Drive was a tough-trip third in debut; very dangerous.
FIFTH: Awsum Roar projects as the main speed if able to escape AE list. Morning Daddy moves to turf for Dave Donk; improvement predicted. Danny’s Rush is from a dam that’s thrown nine turf winners; follow the money.
SIXTH: Can Can Babe owns fast back figures and fired half-mile bullet on July 17; rates close call in wide-open dash. Sun and Moon owns a win and a second in two starts at the Spa; very playable. Da Wildcat Girl is riding a two-race winning streak; worth long look at long price.
SEVENTH: Pierce’s Prize owns a stalker’s style that should be well served in big field. Saratoga Giro has won three of last four and could play out as the speed of the speed on the fence. Grassady was a game, front-end maiden winner in last; don’t ignore.
EIGHTH: Sunset Knoll is fleet-footed and could capitalize on unchallenged lead in big field. Daring Duchess takes two-level class drop and could easily take this on “A” game. Royal Temptress is riding a forward line on the numbers; right in the thick of this.
NINTH: Majesto has trained sharply since failing to threaten in Kentucky Derby; takes this on “A” game. Gift Box has logged solid efforts in all four starts; dangerous. Connect, an uncoupled Chad Brown barn mate of Gift Box, logged two, fast-figured wins at Belmont; big-time player. Forever d’Oro packs strong late kick on best efforts; must consider.
TENTH: Nominal Dollars owns a running style and pedigree (dam has thrown two turf winners) that should be aided by switch to sod. It’s a Given was a determined, front-end maiden winner in last; very playable. Crafty Colonel compiled tight work tab for first start since April; price will be tempting. Quality Indeed owns speed and must be factored into the mix if able to escape AE list.
