SECOND: Another was a solid second in debut and logged two, half-mile works in the interim. Ezmosh moves to grass after even third in first start; dangerous. Blockade compiled tight work tab for debut; follow the money.
THIRD: Hexameter switches surfaces and owns fast back dirt numbers. Wildcat Belle is speedy and rested; big-time, front-end threat. Paluxy Princess could be in the garden spot if pace meltdown ensues.
FOURTH: Aquaphobia notched four tight works since even third on Delaware grass last time; call based on price. Chiropractor also is training sharply and owns fast late-pace figures on best efforts; very playable. Manitoulin was a tough-trip fourth in Grade 3 Arlington Handicap last time; right in the thick of this. Hello Don Julio also drops from Graded stakes (Bowling Green) and has benefit of the rail; must be factored into the mix.
FIFTH: Bourbon Currency was a useful fourth in debut and should be sitting on forward move for potent second-out stable (John Kimmel). Avery Island noticeably picked up the tempo of morning drills as race day neared; could be the goods. Allured debuts for Chad Brown after being purchased for $600K at OBS March sales; need more?
SIXTH: Wine Not fired eye-catching 5-furlong bullet drill on Aug. 12 and is favorably posted in big field. Battle Midway packs potent kick and consistently logs solid numbers; dangerous. Meantime is fleet-footed but will have to hustle to clear inside rivals with short run into first turn; demand value.
SEVENTH: Bonita Springs overcame soft flow when a hard-charging winner in last; more to come. Mom’s On Strike logged fast-figured seconds in both turf starts; logical, short-priced threat. Miss Kentucky is speedy, starts from the rail and could prove very tough to reel in on an unchallenged lead.
EIGHTH: Coasted gets class and distance relief and is 2-for-2 on Spa sod; rail draw is the clincher. Proctor’s Ledge has trained sharply since tallying swift late-pace figure when a clear-cut winner in Lake George; very playable. Party Boat was less than two lengths behind “Ledge” when a willing second in last; must consider.
NINTH: Elate has worked swiftly since tough-trip second in CCA Oaks; call in contentious Alabama. Holy Helena is riding a three-race winning streak and is 1-for-1 at the 9-furlong trip; very interesting. Mopotism could impact if fractions get hot and hectic. New Money Honey moves to dirt for Chad Brown after winning four of six on turf; underlay potential.
TENTH: Remarqued was a two-move fifth in first start since two-month absence last time; breakthrough effort predicted. Time to Flirt has finished second in 3 of 5 outings; vulnerable at short ticket? Star Maven runs late and could impact at fat odds if pace meltdown ensues. Assertive has hit the board in all four starts; logical, short-priced player. Wake Island owns three seconds and a third in four starts; must be factored into the mix if able to escape AE list.
