Steve Matthews’ Saratoga selections for Sunday, Aug. 21

Best Bet: YOU KNOW I KNOW (5)

Best Value: OVERAWE (10)

FIRST: Gorelli compiled tight work tab for first start since May. Born for a Storm was a surging second in last; dangerous. J.J. Jake compiled sharp work slate for debut; very interesting.

SECOND: Jetsam Six gets Lasix in first start for Linda Rice; set for best. Enstone has finished second in last two starts; continues trend? Dumtadumtadum debuts for Michael Dickinson; could be the goods.

THIRD: Saratoga Charlie was victimized by wide trip in last. Sebonack is speedy and bested top selection by more than two lengths in last; very dangerous. Ornato logged sold training tab for debut; don’t ignore.

FOURTH: Chad Brown entry: Idiosyncratic consistently logs fast late-pace figures and mate Performance Bonus owns speed; potent pairing. Captain Moss could be ideally positioned in the stalker’s seat. Nigel’s Destiny can contend on “A” game.

FIFTH: You Know I Know gets price hike after dominant score in last. Galardonado bested a richer field in most recent; drop off the claim is the concern. Gambler’s Ghost is speedy and makes first start for David Jacobson; very dangerous.

SIXTH: Mr. Harlan runs late and gets more ground to work with; call based on price potential. Knight of Valor was second in last and must be considered if able to escape AE list. Montauk Man drops and would be aided by fast fractions. Balfe’s Corner has benefit of rail on tight-turned inner course.

SEVENTH: Vertical Oak displayed speed in debut on grass; timid call in field that’s jammed with newcomers. Okinawa was bought for $420k in April; stay tuned to tote. Tazkeya is training swiftly; happy hunting.

EIGHTH: My Impression tallied career-best late-pace figure when winning last at Delaware; ready for prime time. Outsider Art was a tough-trip third in last; price will be tempting. Catch a Glimpse has won eight straight; if chalk is your game.

NINTH: Bug Juice has won three of last four on dirt; transfers razor-sharp form to grass. Captain Gaughen drops and owns fast turf figures; big-time player. Banana Thief was a determined winner in Belmont grass last out and owns victory on Spa sod; worth long look.

TENTH: Overawe spun her wheels in the slop last time but could make big-time forward move on dry land today. Here Comes Tommy could be the prime beneficiary if pace meltdown ensues. Big Zip makes first start since moving to Rudy Rodriguez barn; must consider.

ELEVENTH: Conquest Prankster is from a dam that’s thrown three grass winners; needs scratches to get in. Bookew Books, also below the AE line, is another with pedigree to improve on turf. Tiz Wicked adds blinkers and switches surfaces; improvement expected. Shiraz concluded work tab with 5-furlong bullet. Fled is another firster that’s training sharply; follow the money.
