Kellenberg's relay team sets record

Kellenberg's shuttle hurdle relay team of Katie Cavanaugh, Odrine Belot, Vanessa Fulton, and Melany Belot set the Icahn Stadium High School record and a meet record in the New York Relays Saturday in girls track. The team won in 1:01.68, shattering the mark of 1:06.8 set by Ridge (N.J.).

Cavanaugh also finished second in the 110 high hurdles in a school-record 14.42 seconds, and Odrine Belot took third (14.48). Ashlin Conroy won the 2,000 steeplechase (7:23.92) and Jazmine Fray was third in the 800 invitational with a CHSAA-best time of 2:13.9.Gelibert sets record. Bay Shore's Jessica Gelibert set a meet record in the 400 IH (1:00.96) at the Red Raider Relays. It is the fastest 400 IH time run in New York this season. Gelibert also won the 100 hurdles (14.77) and anchored the winning 4 x 100-meter relay (3:56.90). Imani McGhee won the triple jump (37-2) and was second in the long jump (17-5), and Danielle Rowe took second in the 800 (2:16.83).

Hannon is second. Elmont's Valencia Hannon finished second in the invitational 200 with a 24.87 in the New York Relays at Icahn Stadium.North Babylon relay team wins. The North Babylon relay team of Nailah Jones, Teena Mobley, Ashley Mandat and Tori Thompson won the 4 x 100-meter relay (49.33) at the Red Raider Relays. Their time was the fastest in the county this season, according to coach Jim DiSalvo. Thompson also won the 200 (25.73).BOYS TRACKBay Shore's Roberts breaks record. Kadesh Roberts won the 110-meter high hurdles (15.01), broke the 19-year-old meet record in the 400 IH (54.30) and anchored the third-place 4 x 400-meter relay (3:30.12) at the Red Raider Relays.Kellenberg relay team sets record. Kellenberg's 4 x 800-meter relay team of Tyler Capozzoli, Raul McGee, Randall Turner and Dylan Murphy won the Red Raider Relays in time of 7:59.08, breaking the record by 4.9 seconds. Murphy placed second in the 800 with a time of 1:56.53.

Uniondale duo sets record. Uniondale's Derrick Ingram and Chris Armour won the long jump relay in a meet-record 43-4 1/4 in the New York Relays at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island. Ingram (21-10 1/4) and Armour (21-6) broke a three-year-old record set by Westbury in 2009.
