Sosnowski scores four

as Molloy women romp

Kristie Sosnowski had four goals, Kerianne Steine added three goals and an assist and Kaitlynn Kelly had three consecutive goals to lead Molloy to a 20-1 women's lacrosse victory over visiting Holy Family, Pa., yesterday.

Molloy (4-1) recorded the first 17 goals before Holy Family (0-2) scored with 14:09 left. Jackie Bove made four saves for Molloy.

Baseball

C.W. Post 10, Bloomfield 2: Pete Budkevics struck out six and allowed two runs and six hits in eight innings for C.W. Post (2-3) at the Palm Beach Challenge in Lantana, Fla.

Budkevics had a perfect game through five innings and a shutout through seven.

Brian Anderson was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one run and Zach Graczyk went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.

Softball

Slippery Rock 1, C.W. Post 0: Slippery Rock's Jessica Kortz drove in Jordan Zeugnes with the game's only run on the second day of the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

Later in the day, Post (3-1) defeated Edinboro, 4-1.

Briarcliffe 4, Suffolk CC-Selden 3: Tori Boschert's walk-off double with one out in the eighth gave Briarcliffe the win in its season opener. Jillian McGovern struck out 10 and allowed two hits and one earned run in eight innings. Suffolk is 2-1.

Queens 3, American International 1; American International 6, Queens 2: Faith Tessmer had a two-RBI double in the top of the eighth to put Queens ahead 3-1 in the first game in Claremont, Fla. Christy Sanders allowed three hits and struck out six in eight innings.

Sara Koumou had an RBI triple and a single for Queens (1-1) in the second game. AIC is 1-5.
