Johnny Tucker's RBI double in the bottom of the 15th inning gave host Somerset a 3-2 win over the Ducks last night in the season opener for both teams.

The two-time defending Atlantic League champion Ducks took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Lew Ford and an RBI single from Ryan Strieby.

But Somerset tied it at 2 in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Nate Spears (3-for-5).

John Brownell started for the Ducks and went six innings. He allowed two runs and struck out five.

The Ducks managed seven hits, including two each from Strieby and Chris McClendon.

Somerset starter Erik Arnesen struck out eight over seven innings for the Patriots and allowed five hits and two runs.

The two teams will play Game 2 of the opening three-game series at 7:05 Saturday night.
