Chip Caray speaks

Here are some comments from Chip Caray in which he puts a positive spin on his new, land-on-his-feet job calling Braves games.

Good for him. Now I can stop feeling bad about being part of the posse of critics that ran him off of TBS.

Caray replaces Jon Sciambi, who left for a gig at ESPN and who told me at the World Series he has been reading me since he was playing baseball at Regis High in Manhattan. Sigh.

Speaking of play-by-players, sure it was Dick Stockton's responsibility to know the score late in the Falcons-Jets game. (It was 10-7 but he thought it was 10-10.)

But I often am amazed how long it takes network analysts and producers to help out a wayward play-by-play man.

Mistakes happen on live TV and radio, but the beauty is that they can be corrected live and immediately.

Reaction is pouring in to my list of New York's best games of the 2000s.

Most common complaint: Soccer? At No. 10? Really?

But I remain 100 percent comfortable with including the 2007 Galaxy-Red Bulls game. Deal with it, America.
