If you were busy with baseball Tuesday and missed the premiere of ESPN Films' latest, "Renee," by all means catch it on one of the re-airs.

You probably had to be there in the 1970s to appreciate the magnitude of the story as it was unfolding, but the documentary does a good job recounting it, and an even better job giving us an intimate look at the current Ms. Richards.
One of the most interesting elements of the film is how the former Richard Raskind's friends and family reacted to his transformation, then and even now.
It is clear they wanted and still want to be sympathetic, and clear most have yet to fully wrap their heads around the change.
