Fox, Cablevision spat causes Giants' TV ratings to go splat

Sunday's Jets-Broncos game on CBS averaged a healthy 14 percent of homes in the New York market.

The earlier Lions-Giants tilt on Fox recorded a relatively meager 7.8 rating. (The Giants' first two games on Fox this season did a 14.5 and an 11.3 locally.)

Why the unusually low numbers for Big Blue? Duh!

The Giants were not available in more than a third of New York-area homes because of the ongoing Fox vs. Cablevision unpleasantness.

If the Yankees win the ALCS and this thing drags on into the World Series, which is on Fox . . . Oy. Let's not even think about that.

Time for baseball - on TBS, thankfully.

Team Newsday is at the Stadium, and raring to go.

Boland was the first scribe to enter the press gate when it opened at 2 p.m.

I was the first in line at 1 p.m. to pay $40 to park.

Rumors that the fee includes a wash, wax, floor mats and neck massage proved to be entirely inaccurate.

Here's the scariest thing: The pricing sign outside the garage indicates the price for the regular season is $23 and the price for the "playoffs" is $40.

Then there is a third line, currently blank, for the World Series. Could they actually jack up the price even more next week?

Stay tuned . . .
