Go Stanford!

I'm currently sitting in 14th place out of 28 in ESPN's women's tournament media bracket challenge.

Not bad, but it will be even better when I vault into first place Tuesday night after Stanford upsets Connecticut.

How can I make that big a jump with one game? Because the other 27 entrants picked UConn to win it all.

I'm long out of contention in the men's tournament and thus am left to do what most of America will: Root for Butler and against Duke.

Unlike most of America, my situation is complicated by a long-ago decision to marry a Dukie. We all have our crosses to bear.

It is cool that teams that play at Cameron Indoor and Hinkle Fieldhouse, two of the most storied venues in the sport, will meet for the title.

Even as Hinkle has been getting huge attention in recent weeks because it was where the movie "Hoosiers" was shot, here is sad news regarding the setting of another iconic sports movie of the 20th Century, "Slap Shot."

Gotta go. Enjoy the SEC women's gymnastics championships at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
