WFAN’s afternoon listeners are in for some Chris Christie next week.
The New Jersey governor is scheduled to co-host WFAN’s afternoon drive time show alongside Evan Roberts from 2-6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The duo is filling in for Mike Francesa, who is on vacation.
Francesa is leaving WFAN in December, and the station is using the summer to test out different combinations of afternoon hosts in the hopes of finding Francesa’s successor.
Christie, whose term as governor ends this year, has been considered a potential candidate to replace Francesa and has some experience on WFAN, occasionally filling in alongside Craig Carton on the station’s morning show.
Christie has been at the center of recent controversy after NJ.com photographed him sunbathing on a public beach that had been closed because of a budget standoff.
