The dire state of Our Islanders gets more unfortunate by the day.
This time, it was respected play-by-player Howie Rose being caught saying some stuff one shouldn't say into a live television microphone. At least not one who serves at the pleasure of the team - as his former partner Billy Jaffe found out before this season.
Here is my story on all that.
Even though Rose said he was expressing frustration over technical difficulties in the production truck, kudos to him for being honest enough in making his apology to tie his comments into the larger context of the general malaise enveloping the franchise.
Oy vey. At least Rose only was heard pining for spring training. It would have been worse if he had looked forward to the Islanders' lease running out in 2015.
