Jeter's 3,000 hit tickets are hot property

The secondary ticket market frenzy over the chance to see Derek Jeter’s 3,000th career hit has resumed in earnest, particularly following his two hits against the Indians Tuesday.

Average asking prices for the Yankees’ homestand against the Rays have more than doubled in the past week, according to FanSnap.com, which searches several dozens sites, topped by an average of $165 per ticket for Friday and Saturday.

Overnight after Tuesday’s game, the average asking price rose from $109 to $138 for Thursday’s game, from $132 to $165 for Friday, from $139 to $165 for Saturday and from $128 to $158 for Sunday.

Even before Tuesday’s two-hit game, another ticket search site, TiqIQ.com, had noted price increases between June 29 and Tuesday of 59.4 percent for Friday’s game, 60.7 for Saturday and 51.8 for Sunday.
