Keith Olbermann is among the most polarizing figures in political media, but his passion for baseball long predates his days as a left-leaning lightning rod on MSNBC and later Current TV.
So much so that he noted upon being hired to host TBS' postseason studio show that it would be the third network for which he has done playoff baseball.
"I guess that is a record I'm the only one capable of breaking,'' he said Wednesday. "But I hope I don't.''
Olbermann turning up on Turner was a bit of a surprise. Turning up on baseball was not.
"I'm delighted to be back, because baseball abides,'' he said. "Last season I did this at home to the TV by myself. Now, there will be people watching, I'll get paid for it and I get to wear a tie rather than sitting around in my uniform pretending to be a player.''
