Lombardi Trophy visited ancestral home after Super Bowl XLII

A leftover human interest note from Super Bowl XLII, which as far as I know is a worldwide exclusive here:

The Giants' victory two years ago earned the Lombardi Trophy a visit to its spiritual home.

As VP of design for Tiffany in 1966, Oscar Riedner designed what is now known as the Lombardi Trophy, initially sketching out his plans on a cocktail napkin during a luncheon attended by then-commissioner Pete Rozelle.

Eight years ago, Pat Hanlon, the Giants' VP of communications, purchased Riedner's long-time home in Irvington, N.Y., from Riedner's daughter.

Said Hanlon: "Two years ago I walked into our house with that trophy and put it on the kitchen table and said, 'Oscar, your trophy is home.'"
