Mike Pereira has been lights out

Here is a column I wrote about Fox rules analyst Mike Pereira and how the network handled Sunday's blackout at New Meadowlands Stadium.

A Fox executive called Pereira the best thing to happen to televised football since the yellow first-down line.

I wouldn't go that far, but he clearly has been the best thing to happen to televised football this season.

Speaking of power outages at football games . . .

I never, ever share my dreams with anyone, even my immediate family, because the only thing more boring than stories about other people's dreams is stories about other people's fantasy football teams.

But what the heck, I'm going to make an exception because I thought y'all might enjoy this one:

Last night I dreamed that the Jets were leading the Panthers by a wide margin in the third quarter at NMS when the lights dimmed.

Officials ordered the game to continue but the Panthers disagreed and to display their displeasure they started taking a knee on every down.

After a four-and-out, the Jets ran a flea flicker that led to an 80-yard touchdown pass from Mark Sanchez to Braylon Edwards.

A fight ensued on the field. Then my dog started scratching herself aggressively, which turned out to be real life, and I woke up.
