Peyton Manning and Magic Johnson went one-on-one Wednesday night, but not in the way you might think.
The two squared off in a compelling game of “Egg Russian Roulette” on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
“I had dreams growing up that I would maybe have a chance to play Magic one-on-one someday,” Manning said before smashing an egg on his head. “I never thought it’d be in Russian egg roulette.”
Manning and Johnson were presented with a dozen eggs, eight of which were hardboiled. Whoever smashes two of the four non-hardboiled eggs on their head first loses.
The Super Bowl champion lost.
Earlier in the show, Johnson, who’s now a season-ticket holder for the Los Angeles Rams, said he pressured Manning not to retire from the NFL and play for the Rams. NFL owners voted 30-2 last month to allow the former St. Louis franchise to move back to Los Angeles, where it played from 1946-94.
“I tried to talk somebody out of retirement,” Johnson said while guesturing at Manning. “And come to the Rams. I said, ‘Man, if you play again, come to the Rams.’”
