Next May’s PGA Championship at Bethpage Black will be the last in a 29-year run for Turner Sports in carrying the event.

CBS will continue to carry weekend afternoon coverage, but ESPN announced Wednesday that they will take over the cable rights from Turner, which has had the event since 1991.

The contract begins in 2020 and is for 11 years, ESPN said.

CBS will produce the coverage, even when it is seen on ESPN.

The move of the tournament from August to May starting in 2019 made it more attractive to ESPN.
