Rarely around here do we discuss documentaries about the Jacksonville Jaguars, because, well, why would we?
But tonight's "A Football Life - Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell" on NFL Network is worth watching, in part because it does a good job telling the past and present tale of the underappreciated former Jaguars receivers.
Smith has fallen on hard times since the Jags' heyday about 15 years ago; McCardell has flourished.
Two bonus points:
An interview with Giants coach Tom Coughlin in which he discusses his former stars plays a central role in the show, along with a reunion with them in Jacksonville before last month's Giants-Jaguars game.
And the producer is seven-time Emmy winner Paul Monusky, a former Newsday paperboy who grew up in Hauppauge.
