ESPN 98.7 announced this week it has added Bill Parcells to its weekly roster of NFL guests. Tuna will be on the menu every Thursday at 4 p.m. on Michael Kay's show.
Also, Joe Namath's often newsmaking apperances with Kay will be expanded to one hour every Monday, starting at 6 p.m.
Rex Ryan will continue as a Kay regular at 5:15 p.m. on Mondays, but two other mainstays of the station won't be appearing this season.
Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez simply wasn't interested in doing the job anymore, and Giants quarterback Eli Manning - if he does a weekly spot at all - will do so on WFAN, the Giants' flagship station. (Jets games are carried by ESPN 98.7.)
There still will be active players on the station for weekly visits:: the Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul and Chris Canty and the Jets' Nick Mangold.
The radio gold standard of active local players, Antrel Rolle, will continue to appear on WFAN's midday show this coming season.
