Back in the innocent, long-ago year 2005 I wrote a story explaining the outrageous rise in parking rates at Yankee Stadium for the playoffs - to the unimaginable price of $24!
What was the world coming to? Who would pay that much, especially for a spot that in the regular season cost only $12?
Five years later, parking for the ALDS Saturday will cost you . . . $40.
Normally, I would tell people to ignore the lots altogether and take the subway, but given the average length of Yankees playoff games that is not a realistic option for many suburban fans who have to take a subway to a commuter train in the wee hours of the morning, when departures are few and far between.
This ends our blogging week. Enjoy the hockey season.
