The YES Network’s average rating for Yankees games in 2017 was 3.57 percent of New York-area homes, up 57 percent from last season and YES’ best such rating since 2012.

The increase presumably was helped by the fact that unlike last year, YES received full distribution from the area’s Comcast customers, but the team’s improved play and young stars likely were a far bigger factor.

Yankees games on YES were up 29 percent in 2017 compared with 2015, the last previous season the network was available on Comcast.

YES said 40 games this season generated a rating of 4.0 or greater, compared with none last season.

YES said its “Yankees Batting Practice Today” show was up 114 percent compared with last year, its pregame show was up 61 percent and its postgame show was up 57 percent.

The network’s simulcast of ESPN Radio’s “The Michael Kay Show” was up 88 percent during the Yankees’ regular season compared with the previous year.
