Spike on Monday morning announced the two preliminary bouts from UFC 111 that will air before the card goes live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. in Newark.
For the price of nothing, you'll be able to watch Ricardo Almeida, a Jersey boy, make his welterweight debut against Matt Brown. Almeida planned the drop to 170 pounds months ago, saying he's just not big enough to compete at 185. He's right. His walking-around weight was typically 190 pounds, far too small to compete against top middleweights. You might remember Brown as the guy who knocked out Pete Sell twice in the first round at UFC 96.
The second free bout features Nate Diaz in his welterweight debut against Rory Markham. Diaz moves up from lightweight, where he lost his last fight to Gray Maynard at UFC Fight Night 20.
The rest of the UFC 111 fight card is sick. Here it is, just in case you haven't seen it yet:
Georges St-Pierre vs. Dan Hardy (welterweight championship)
Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin (interim heavyweight championship)
Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves
Ben Saunders vs. Jake Ellenberger
Jim Miller vs. Mark Bocek
Kurt Pellegrino vs. Fabricio Camoes
Rodney Wallace vs. Jared Hamman
Rousimar Palhares vs. Tomasz Drwal
Matthew Riddle vs. Ricardo Funch
